Finally committed this morning to our holiday down under. It's probably going to be our last long haul as we're hoping to get a puppy mid December and it's too difficult to leave for long holidays.
3 cities and about 2500 miles of driving as well, we definitely are not going for a rest!

A bonus is that we have 30kg each baggage allowance so look out turning shops in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, (I know the one in Sydney:wink:). Might squeeze in a couple of Ozzie trees as well:whistling:

Downside is I'll miss the Harrogate show:down: but I wouldn't have any funds left to buy goodies in any case!

Take as many clothes as you can that you don't mind leaving behind so that you can bring back more important artefacts back with you. Have a great time which I am sure you will:thumbs:

Lucky you Lons as Woody points out they have some fantastic "Funny Wood" that you might be able to get your hands on.

 Have you considered taking orders from Forum Members and you could parcel them up and ship em out to us. It will give you something to do if you get bored

Yep we are extremely lucky. We've been down under a couple of times before (I have a brother in Sydney) but not to Melboune or Perth areas.
We decided a few years ago to travel a bit while we can 'cos you never know what's around the corner health wise and b*ugger the kids inheritance, they can fend for themselves!

It's going to be a fabulous trip though it's taken a bit of organising. We're flying newcastle to Kuala Lumpur (3 nights) then on to Melbourne (4), picking up a car to explore along the Ocean Drive (4) then back along past Melbourne for a leisurely 8 day drive along the coast to the outskirts of Sydney where we'll stay near my brother for a couple of nights.a few bevvies and barbeque before dumping the car and another 3 nights in Sydney centre (my favourite city).
Fly on to Perth for 8 day drive up the coast as far as Monkey Mia and back for a few days in Perth city then 11 hour flight to Dubai where we'll break for 2 nights before home - PHEW!!!

Don't want to make anyone green:devil:

Have a goodun Bob. I have done a few of those cities ( I loved KL ) and feel envious as I wish I was doing it again !!!!

Thanks Terry

Never been to KL or Dubai. We wanted to go back to Hong Kong but couldn't get the connections without lon.....g airport delays.

I'm not giving any holiday dates btw as I've heard about your reputation and you have a fair idea of where I live:wink: Actually no point as it would take a week to break into my workshop:funny:

Are the operative words Vic, you could post parcels home to yourself Bob.
You will beat them home and have a Christmas of it too.
Have a great time and yes I am green with envy.

When in KL go to the Chinese market where they sell the fake watches and if you take a few of your pens you might be able to do a few sales also!!!:whistling:
It is worth going up the Petronas Twin Towers and the Telecoms Tower while your there. Fabulous views !!!
Perth is good but I found it fairly quiet but very clean !!!
