It it an optical illusion or does the pen seem to look quite tapered when it has a cap posted in place?

It is tapered, all my Omega pens have different size diameters on opposing ends of the working side of pen piece. There is a mm difference on the external size of the bushings , only found out when i put one together and noticed a lip on one side , turned it around and it fitted., thought it was normal for the different sizes.
