No, but I have some ready for pens, if it is a nice piece no reason not too. Whatever you find, just try it and see how you go, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Cutting pen blanks from old parquet flooring blocks is very do-able. As the blocks usually have a thick coating of bitumen on the rear, getting that off can be a filthy business!
You can come across really unusual wood species too as much parquet flooring (hugely popular in the 1920s and 1930s) came from the colonies of the time, particularly East Africa. Many such species of timber are difficult or impossible to obtain now so you may have difficulty identifying what wood you have. Still, if it looks good, a rose by any other name...

No timber is sacred from pens I see pens in them all. Remember the time and effort reclaiming can take several times the time needed with clean blanks from what you have said lengthy spells tire you this can be important.

I have been given some real Brazilian Rosewood that was ear marked for flooring.

It was sent to France in the seventies, the guy died and the son in law got the wood, got a bit about 10mm thick, like parquet flooring size, and a lump approx. 25mm x 50mm and about 500mm long.

Really nice stuff.
