Pasta machine problem

Has anyone stripped a pasta machine to clean the scraper blades ?
I made a red/white blend in Fimo baking clay and it turned out ok.
I then tried a blue/white blend but it kept picking up red from the machine.
I found there was some red clay on the scraper blades and couldn't get in to remove it so I have stripped the machine down and wiped the blades.
This is a ProCook professional pasta machine and I am sure there is an easier method of cleaning these blades than stripping it down every time.
Anyone got any experience here ?:nooidea:

I have.

Sadly no there is not much when it comes to cleaning them. The higher end (read more costly) units have easier methods to clean them but they all gum up quite fast and very easy.

With pasta the mix will dry out and flake out easily, with clay it does not.

Thanks Ed, I have put it back together (almost) and I think I have the answer.
Thanks Mark, the instructions on making pasta, say to use flour to stop the dough sticking and brush down with a dry pastry brush when finished, but as you say 'that don't help me a lot' :funny:
When I removed one of the side plates the whole machine fell apart (naturally) and I was left with a pile of pieces of chrome plated metal.
I started putting it back together and discovered a spring pin in each side piece that holds the scraper blades in place.
So it is a matter of removing the cover on the side and removing the pin, this frees the plates and they can be removed and wiped clean.

I used a few sheets of kitchen roll folded in half and run through the machine several times.
