bought some hardwood dowels from wickes for a project

listed as light hardwood dowel
2.4m long
15mm diameter
£3.99

nice bit of spalting..cheap as
thought they may be a good cheap source

they are for the cot so will be wastage tbh as only get 3 out of the 2.4m length and 400 - 500 spare

just thought may be an interest to some...if u get lucky...the spalted length will probably become a "reject"
