Pen Box Help

i am making a pen box
not the normal though and is a cylinder

plan is to drill from either end 2 different sizes i.e. bottom part and cap part
once drill i will part thru centre line...i have already turned with paper glued between the 2 halves
i can drill the cap part to correct size ..but i need to then create a recess for the clip
cant work out how to make a neat job of this
router and fence and pray ?
chisel by hand and pray ?
drill an offset clip hole first ?

any ideas please?

this is one of those jobs that sounded good plan until the last minute

Dremel it out, you can get a precise fit that way.

Alternatively rout once you have parted the halves. Shouldn't need too much praying! :pray:
