I am sure this has been asked

how do u decide what colour to put with what blank

i understand that a grey blank should have chrome
but when it comes to wood it is hard to judge ..in my opinion

an orange blank i would go gold
white i guess is chrome
i am sure there are lots that just prefer chrome whatever
and there is always the element of "what the customer wants"

reasoning behind question is:
i am just about to do a roman harvest dressed in buckeye
i suspect that i will kill the blank with my skill level :sob:
but on the off-chance i succeed i would like to get this one right

No right or wrong here, if it were me with Buckeye I'd lay both kits alongside the blank and choose the one I like best.

Then use the kit for something else after I'd destroyed the blank :funny::funny::funny:

I have some buckeye to try next week :whistling:

I put my hand in the drawer and without looking whatever comes out is what it's gonna be.
Sod the customer they have what they see and bugger all else.
That all changes if they flash some cash before hand, then when I am holding the folding we can discuss what I will force upon them init?

As Phil says, If you put the kits along side the pen then one will jump out as being right and if it doesn't then it doesn't matter which one you use.

Personally I wouldn't put a Roman harvest kit on a buckeye Burr blank a busy kit on a busy blank I would go for a plane kit like the Barron or the sedona in gold or chrome depending on the colour of the blank as Buskeye can some in black n grey, brown in several shades I just go with my gut instinct
But at the end of the day it all boils down to personal choice

And if none of the above answers fit your question then just send the pen and blank to me:funny::funny::funny:

I would have lost the blank in the workshop by then :funny::funny:

Sorry Dan...guess we are all a bit eager

Steve

Actually with Buckeye I think gunmetal would go okay.
