Is there a thread or even a site that shows & explains what the different pen styles look like & also the tools needed to make them ie drill bit sizes ect? I have searched but came up blank (No pun intended) I am new to turning & have only tried Slim line kits up till now which are great but i feel that i need to try some different types, Thanks

most of the sites selling kits will show you a picture of the made up pen. Most will also tell you the drill size to use- either in the text, or in the instructions. You may find it better to buy your kits, measure the tubes and then get the drill bits from ukdrills or similar.

For example Rollerball & Fountain Pen Kits - Fountain Pen Making Kit Australia | Timberbits or TM Pen Kits – Taylors Mirfield

If you are new, I would certainly try a couple of different styles, but I wouldn't try too many or it gets rather expensive if you have to buy new bushings and drills for each type.

it can be hard to judge quality from pictures, so you may have to ask on the forum or do a search.

Welcome to the forum Keith, introduce your self here Introduce Yourself to Penturners Forum

Tell us what you do and what you know to help us understand how much you know, otherwise it makes it difficult init..

There is no one site but the forum has allot of experience on there are links on the IAP that will have allot of info.

But the good retailers will already give you that info before you buy.

Hi Keith and welcome to the mad house

As Eamonn says
Welcome to the forum Keith, introduce your self here Introduce Yourself

How about showing us some photos of your pens

As for other kits. Ones using a single blank are pretty easy and quick to do.
I'd suggest the "Sierra" available from most suppliers.
Or the Zeta and Epsilon available from Dan at Taylors Mirfield

Singular tube kits like the Sierra, or twin tubes such as the Baron kit are good starter kits ..
