I got the wood pecker carbide set and it’s very efficient but needs a drill press and VERY GOOD CLAMPING of the blank.Plus a GENTLE TOUCH a on the down handle


 I do have a sanding disc as well but have not tried it as yet for blank squaring.


On the American pen site IAP the sanding method is very popular though.
