Many years ago when I started turning pens I supported a program called Freedom Pens. Pens were made, donated and sent to active duty men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. While that program is still going strong and focus has shifted to include anyone that served in the military. A pen is given in recognition for their military service. A member of my turning club is very active in this endeavor. He and others of our club make and donate pens to be given to vets locally. These are some examples of the pens I donate.
