My other halfs son is based at RAF Digby in Lincolnshire and managed to secure some Horse Chestnut from one of the trees they had cut down.
The wood had been lying around the base for a while and was starting to split but we managed to find a couple of pieces that could be used for pens.

The Commanding Officer at RAF Digby has given his permission for this wood to be used in the making of pen to raise funds for Pens 4 Heroes,
either by selling the pens and donating the money, or by donating the pens themselves to Pens 4 Heroes.
The only proviso being that the pens I turn are offered for sale to staff at RAF Digby first.

So here are the first three. They are gold Streamlines with Certification of Authenticity

Digby... I used to live a few miles away, across the back roads. My mate used to live on camp, and I used to ride my bike across to meet him. A nice set of pens there

You will need to get permission from the C/O at Coningsby if you want to say the wood came from there Billy. Plus to keep the prices good for Pens 4 Heroes, we don't want to flood the market with pens made from the wood. A nice gentle release will raise the best funds, especially as there will be a limited market

Well those three were sold to 3 lasses on camp by 23:00 last night
The male members of the armed services who have shown interest want more manly pens :whistling:
I wonder if we can find a supplier who is willing to donate them :thinks:
