Quite possibly one of the most difficult things I have made on the lathe.

I’m not happy with the shape, but it “evolved” as I made it. Thankfully it’s a gift for my stepson, so I’m not the one who is going to have to look at it every day!

And the wood split, so I’ve had to fill and repair with epoxy. Luckily it split along the line of the laminations so hopefully I’ve got away with that.

Oh and the screws that hold the baseplate on snapped. So that’s held on with superglue!

Like I said, it’s been hard work! [emoji1787]

It's looks OK mate. The one thing a really struggle with is salt and pepper grinders. They never seem to go together well and some of the cheaper kits are not that good either. I tend to keep away from them if I can.....well done, nice work.

Cheers

I like Tigerwood/ plywood especially when it's given shape and you have done that with this, I can't comment on the shape as I am hopeless at creating what's in my mind, I normally over turn every thing and then it's toooo late.:funny:
Very nice job:thumbs::thumbs:

Nice shape and yes they do need a little care when turning and fitting for the mechanism. It pays to pre drill holes for screws. I think the blank is not doing the shape any justice as it is too fussy but that is only my personal choice

What a tale of woe. I'm guessing you must have made it before you got your new turning smock. :devil:

Looks good from where I'm sitting though.
