Well one of my involuted turnings decided to go its separate ways in many pieces, so that was that for the competition piece so had to have a go at something else.

Started these on Wednesday by preparing the blanks, nothing done to them Thursday as I was at the hospital. I completed them on Friday but when I was doing the finish I had an accident with them and dinged one of the bottom edges, sorted that out on Saturday. Posted them in the competition today so can now put them on here.

They say things come in three's
The first attempt then the mills and lastly THE PEN
A pair of salt and pepper mills made in roughly the same shape as the old salt and pepper shaker style, turned from ash and stand 6 1/2" tall and 2" diameter. I used roughing gauge, spindle gauges and skew chisel. All drilling was done on the lathe. The finish is sander sealer and melamine lacquer.
