Where do you all store your photo's?

I only ask because I'm nosey.
Oh and another reason is that I have just spent a few hours uploading all of mine to Amazon photo's. We have been Prime members for ages now and it was only out of boredom I decided to check on just what I was getting for that. Apart from the main ones being free postage (on a lot of stuff) and prime video, I found loads of stuff I could get, the most appealing was unlimited storage of photo's including raw format.

Surely they can't keep that up as I would suspect some people would have many hundreds, if not thousands of TB uploaded. The problem with free storage is that I will now have a tendency of keeping the bad photo's as well as the good, I will be keeping the bad ones in the hope that one day I will be able to edit them and make them look good. Both myself and Mrs G know that day will probably never arrive, but I will store them just in case. If Amazon started charging for storage I dare say I will remove the majority and start to make a more concentrated effort in getting all my pics right and be very selective in what I store away.

My iPad and iPhone photos are often just left on the device and backed up to the HD on our iMac. Photos from my digital camera have quite large file sizes as I shoot RAW+JPEG so these are kept on a couple of external drives. Portable HDD are still a good option and pretty cheap.

I keep all mine on an external HD I did at one time use photobucket until they changed everything so vowed never to trust outside storage. Beside that how do you know that they will not use them.

I used to two photobucket accounts, one I lost when they bought in NBN and I didn't realize till it was too late that the contact email was the missus old email addy.
The other I stopped using when photobucket suddenly wack on this massive fee increase, they introduced a $399 annual fee to embed images on third-party sites.

Now I store the on my computer and external hard drives.

So I use iCloud storage, and share to all devices for photos, I also store photos on my iMac and keep two local backups via time machine, one to a multi-drive nas and one to a standalone hdd - not that I’m paranoid!

To be fair I’m also pretty good at binning rubbish photos! I’m old school, learnt with film and have never changed my practices so do very little if any post processing and cull agressively.

We have our own Synology home cloud with SSD HD. We got sick of others trying to charge us for little space, more so, with our web site. Not cheap, but worth every penny if one needs to store loads.
