Without doubt the Lucida, the quality is superb, the drill required 23/64 which means turning plastic it has the edge over the sierra at 27/64, there is more material on the finished pen and the depth of colour is much deeper. The top twist mechanism is very smooth, and reliable and doesnt require much of a twist. Just a touch pricey thats all.

I have been seeing some Sedona's on here lately, it is a pen that i haven't used as yet but does look good. The pen kit i will go for is the Barron II, not to big or heavy and feels comfortable in the hand .. Other than the Slimline, it is my best seller ... :winking:

The Pristina followed by Roman Harvest then Spring Blossom then Baron 2, then Sedona Fountain pens first then Rollerball.

The Sedona. I haven't tried the Lucida but think I need to. I ordered a bunch of Sedonas from TB a few weeks ago so they should be here shortly and I've had a couple of Roman Harvest in stock for many months now but still never made one.

I,m going to be plain boring & say the slimline, the reason is, I like to see plenty of wood on the pens I make, too much far eastern metalwork on the sierra's etc for me

I haven't had chance to try more than 3 different kits so far but if it was down to popularity for me then it would be slimline, but the sierras go quite well and are a joy to make. I've had some interest in the mini bolt action and I'll be interested to see how the lucidas go when they arrive at the end of the month.

I've not made enough different types to make a constructive decision but I do like the common or garden 'streamline', plenty of timber and lots of scope for experimenting.
