You never quite know how these blanks will turn out, this was a stabilised blue maple burl that was very very dark before I started turning it, only for it to change massively on the finished pen.

That's a very nice blank (PSI from Axi?) well matched to the kit also... I may have gone a little thinner on a kit like that, but that's just personal taste..... Well done, nice finish too:thumbs::thumbs:

I like the maple burr, Paddy, but also I would not be a fan of the shape of the barrel. I like the lines that Axminster have in their picture of that kit, they follow the natural shape of the nib and finial. But to each their own.Thanks for showing.

Yes with regards to axi blank & I like your version Mark, and can see why you both prefer the straighter version, but I have big hands and ‘chunky’ pens feel more comfortable, and I’m guilty of making to suit me I guess :rolling:
However as soon a someone wants to buy one of get a commission I’ll try and make it however they want :wink:

I really appreciate the critique and opinions though.
