ive been turning 7mm twist, streamline and sierra pens using kits from a variety of sources.

The issue I have is that there always seems to be a little bit of play/movement in the refill when writing.

ie it seems that the hole in the end of the nib is too big. This results in the refill becoming a little unstable and gives a small 'click' when writing.

Ive experimented with adjusting the amount that the refill comes out, but still get the same results.

I hope this less than technical description gives you a good idea what I mean.

Im aware these kits are at the bottom end of the the pen turning price scale but Ive used them as a good place to start and learn the art of pen turning.

My questions are

1 is this just something we have to accept?

2 Are ther kits where this doesnt happen?

3 Am I just being picky?
