Playing with colour

Well at last managed to get something off the lathe after the two that exploded and then this one having three attempts at colouring, I finally ended up with something I liked.
The wood I believe is holly and quite plain and it stands 7" tall and 3" at the widest.

Thank you guys took some time getting here but pretty happy with it but still can be improved on, but I am enjoying every minute.

The colour on this is stunning. How did you get such a smooth blend.?

When applying the second colour I started in the centre and worked out to the first without applying any more of the paint to the paper towel so that it became thinner at the join between the two

Thank you all. I hope to do some more experimenting with colours. I may just have to dig out my airbrush and play with that, I think I have some cans of air somewhere

I like everything about this piece. Excellent technique, great colour blend, pleasing shape. Looking forward to your next effort.
