Scottish Wych Elm and African Blackwood attached to an English Sycamore base with copper wire, braided in the chuck of a cordless drill.
The bowl is 5" diameter, and the block 9" x 2 1/2" x various heights.
Finish is Chestnut Acrylic Gloss Lacquer.

I like that Neil. Did you also spray the copper wire or have you left it to tarnish to add an natural age to it

Sprayed as a complete piece Derek. If I was to do this again I think I would darken the top of the base a bit to get more contrast.

Or find a piece with bark on as though the wood has grown around the wire. just an idea
