Right, got the label to stick, painted it with the Mrs best quality, over priced marketing department made it smell expensive nail varnish, cast it in glasscast, final finish with micro mesh and it looks grim, like the surface is hazy? Is it because I’m dry finishing with micromesh and inevitably generating heat? What’s the technique to end up with that glass like finish?

All help gratefully considered!

Sounds like you may have turned it to. Soon m8 and your resin wasn’t fully cured I give mine a final buff on a polishing wheel with the white diamond bar or use something lice T cut or autoglem on the lathe

Woody might be on the money, I get a good finish with micromesh pads dry.... The last glass cast I used took ages to fully cure( I filled some 50bmg cases)...
I also use Farcla as a liquid polish or car cutting compound from Machine Mart.:thumbs:

After the learning curve, I managed to turn one of the six prototypes to the bushes and then wet sanded to 2000 with chestnut burnishing cream and it seems to have done the job. Waited for five days before taking it out of the mould, don’t know if it made a difference but something did!
