Good quality polishing mops last for a long time my small one for years now making it a small outlay over all that firm claims next day service etc seems great. My biggest problem was how much to put on the mop,I use Carnauba Wax and since its for pens ever so small amount wins the day the Liberon stick in use for many years now. I think the best mop use comes from one mop one finish mixing waxes etc can be awkward.

I also brought the Chestnut ones. To start with they do throw some bits of cotton off but that is just running them in. With them you get the three mops two mandrels, one for the chuck and one for a drill. You also get three polishing bars for each stage of the process and lastly the instructions.
Here are some that I have polished using it

I bought mine from the Polishing Shop. I rang the guy up, told him what I wanted, ie. Mops, tripoli white diamond & carnauba. He was very helpful & made a package up for me & it works a treat.

I used these for hybrid blanks from GW (acrylic \ wood)
and an acrylic coated goblet

really work well

the B grade is a bit coarse so only maybe not needed

I got this one from Axminster George, but not used it yet .. Need to get it set up .. :winking:

If you are using it for pens with CA then you will need a soft loose stitched mop or swansdown for the final polish.

I would have thought with CA and Acrylics you wouldn't need to buff, micromesh to 12000 is all I use and a bit of a rub with 'T' cut.

I use the Chestnut system but have read good reports from the Polishing Shop. When replacement time comes I will go form the best price between the two of them

That's what I thought, it was a great shine, but then I tried the menzerna compounds and the P175 for the final polish, great for metal and plastics alike.
