In my wood store I have logs which have only just been cut. Sometimes if I want bowls etc then I will turn them green to the rough shape seal the outside only and throw them in my other wood store after about 6 months I have turned some and they have not moved that you can notice. I weigh them once rough turned and keep weighing until they do not move and stay about the some. If you want them for pen blanks cut them to blank size and leave sealing the ends after a time in the store bring them inside and let them dry even more. I have even been known to put them in the airing cupboard.
