Having taken advice from this forum and after my lesson with Mr mooney, I have spent the last few weeks, practising the art of sharpening a tool properly!!! I put some wood between centres and turned the RPM's up to 3100 (nearly twice the speed I was turning at). The result was some what amazing. So I put some pen blanks on the mandrel and practised. Results are varied due to the fact I am removing material at a much quicker rate and I need to get used to taking lighter cuts. However my colleagues will love the free gifts.
