A friend supplies me trout now and again so I made this as a thank you. Made from Ebony and polished with wax. It will come with a free annual wax change.

Its 8.5" long Brian... I wanted it to look like a divers 'Short Sword' the old brass divers knife. In my mind I've done that.

I don't understand why anyone would want to turn their television on with a priest :funny::funny::funny:

Great job Paul, it's a beauty. I'm sure he'll love it but I feel sorry for the trout.

As a fisherman can I make a suggestion? Ask him if he wants it drilled to take a lanyard or a retractable clip as it's guarranteed that it will be dropped into the water at some stage and if that happens to be a river rather than lake, he'll lose it (Don't ask how I know!)
I just put a "D" ring into the end of mine then I can clip on to a retractable lanyard and it's safe and handy.

Thanks Bob, I might just put a lanyard around it anyway and he can cut it off if its no good.

I did hear an explanation but buggered if I can remember it.
I think it is something to do with:
The name "priest" comes from the notion of administering the "last rites" to the fish or game. Anglers often use priests to quickly kill fish.

Nice job that, looks to be a glass like finish

Why do they call them Priests ?

I think it delivers the last rights.... or something like that.

OH Brian got in first and also spelled rites correctly.
