Never made any of these before. Had a Chrome one and a rhodium. Other than six dollars I cant tell the two apart as far as the metal goes.

The one on the left is Kingwood and tother is Yellow Box Burr, which doesnt look anything to write home about but looks better in the flesh and isnt worth the high price it currently commands, Nice piece of Laburnum would have been better, best I get some more.

Now Ive previewed it I can see the fine dust still on it but thats tough! Off to market tomorrow at the Sandringham flower show where Charles and Camilla are due to drop in and have a look see.

Neil I find your updates with pen kits and timbers very informative and thank you for doing this I have long ago found the progression to hundreds of pen kits available now with their various names etc fairly confusing.

Like your two pens and agree with your remarks re real costs of various timbers and the qualities you get from various suppliers, both of these timbers.

Kind regards Peter.

Agree with all Neil has said. I've just done my first for my son's 40th birthday, a Rhodium dressed in Tiger Myrtle. Hope he likes it.

A Nice pair of pens there Neil. I saw my first Pristina in the flesh when Terry came here on Sunday and it is a nice kit. It would make a lovely kit without the bling too... room for another model????

- I'm sure your son will love that pen Dave
