Just thought would share this picture as there was a post about using the Proxxon Mimi lathe for pens. As you can see my pen mandrill fits fine just used to make a pen and toothbrush handle work great.:thumbs:100_2853.jpg

Hi - Sorry for dragging up an old thread especially as I've literally only joined the forum because I found a post that referenced this topic.
I'm hoping if I can get a resolution and setup I may be able to contribute to the forum going forward.

I already have a Proxxon DB250 and was looking to use it for pen turning, as fathers day is coming I duly went with wife and daughter to Axminster to get a Mandrel and other bits - but they advised that because the Proxxon uses collets the MT mandrels they have won't work.

So my question is Winemaker could you tell me what mandrel you have and the size and where you got it please - do you use a collet?

You seem to say you are very happy with it so I don't see any point in getting anything different if I too can get a working setup like yourself.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Padster
