A different type of pen has emerged from the shed yesterday. This one is a Montague ballpoint kit from PSI made with Mulberry.

The Mulberry is grown in many countries and can be hardy in Southern England. The leaves of the White Mulberry are best known as food for the silkworm, but its fruit and roots have also been used in medicine for centuries.

The wood polished to a beautiful glowing golden colour which I'm told will darken slightly as it ages.

Nice job. I've got some mulberry that I've had in the shed for the past ten years, looked quite green in comparison the last time I looked.

Even plain Mulberry has lots to offer Burl Mulberry very rare to die for. Like your pen and that kit like so many newish kits it is hard to decide B to B or design certainly the shapes at the top and bottom make it a lottery.

Peter.

Mulberry is one of my favorite woods to turn. The danged stuff grows like weeds here. The birds "plant" the seeds everywhere. The tap root of a Mulberry is so long a growing twig a foot tall has to be dug out. It can't be pulled by hand. Don't even get me started on purple bird shit on the white siding of my home.:vangry:

Your pen is very nice and the colour change will be beautiful.
