Hello pen friends.

Hope you’re all enjoying productive time at the lathe.

Here’s a pen I made from a batch of purple stabilised maple blanks. I believe they are dyed with red and blue, rather than a straight purple, and usually the redder colour dominates but this one is much darker and more on the blue end of the spectrum. It also has some lovely figure that makes it look quite dramatic.

It’s fully lined and tapered and has a bock number 6 nib. The pocket clip is from Beaufort.

The last couple of photos show it alongside a pen made from the same blanks and is more typical of how they usually look.

Cheers
Ash

That's certainly different, I love the natural colour wood inclusion looks almost like a resin hybrid. It's strange how certain timbers will take colour and at what depth....the more you look at that pen the more you see, think it might become more a fidget toy, keep rolling around in my hand....Beautiful mate!

Beautiful work

I go for the more contrast pen for sure . The colours accentuated the natural beauty.

The other is a bit “too lilac “for my taste but the flowing lines and accents are pure class and definitely your style Ash

👍

What size clip are you using. What size is the pen body at the triple thread and what size is the cap at the triple thread end if you dont mind me asking.
