I have a few brass chapter rings and I intend to have another go at making some wall clocks.

On my last attempt I had problems fixing the brass chapter ring to the wooden disc.

After a few months the wood and the brass decided to part company in places and it looked a mess.

I think that I used CA but not sure ?

What glue do you recommend?

Take a guess
I'd use epoxy & abrade the brass where the glue is going to be applied to give a good key, I'd also clean the brass prior to gluing with meths.

Abrade the brass and use contact adhesive, always worked for me.

I use silicone sealant spread fairly thinly

I should imagine that the silicone sealant would allow for any movement difference between the wood and the brass chapter ring ? Mmmmmm food for thought that idea

Just an idea...
If the rings are lifting would it be an idea to house them in a groove & then epoxy them in.?
