I've been asked to make a couple of razor kits up in "non wood".

I was thinking of using the polygem but looks like TR have stopped doing them (website page is empty).

Anyone got an alternative suggestion ?

Or do I just go with Acrylics?

I would go with acrylics Phill. Some of the home made ones can be a bit brittle so I would give these a miss as a razor is not treated with the same care as a pen would be!!! I have noticed that the polygems have disappeared from TR !!!!

I was going to suggest trustone as well but you can use any material you like acrylic, talcstone, turners retreat sell talc stone in slabs and you can cut it up on your bandsaw and it turns & polishes very easy it is a natural material which is dug up mainly in Oz and Africa and comes in a variety of colours good luck mate
I have posted a photo of it the one in the middle and the bit in the middle of the tall one
