I need some ideas of a water proof finish to use on the razors I am planing on making any ideas ?

I used CA on the one I did for Dad. Make sure you do the ends though. Seems to have lasted OK.

I suppose you could try Les's dipping method with a polyurethane gloss also.

Just need to find some equivalent to the Minwax he uses :nooidea:

Use acrylics. I made some about 5 years ago and the finishes have flaked off. The one finish that I havent tried is International Yacht Varnish, about six coats starting 20/80 varnish and thinners working to 80/20 and then a full varnish, two days in between coats, a week to harden off and then burnish back to a supreme gloss.

Nah - use acrylics.

I too think that they only way to make a long lasting razor is with acrylics.

I finished a couple of wood one with CA and so far so good but the fusion I have planned for myself will be tru-stone.
