My first turning on my metal lathe
I used metal turning tools as i don't have any woodturning ones yet - will make something soon
so I picked up a couple of acrylic blanks
and here it is - quite pleased how it all turned out

Lol looks great !
Finish turned out OK ? Bit of 600 wet and dry and auto sol - should I have used some wax after the auto sol ?
Cheers

No, if you want it to shine you need to do a bit more, wax only wears off.

What should I do after the auto sol ?
Thanks
Simon

The auto sol or similar is usually the last step, either sand some more using finer grits, micro mesh is great, or you could buff the acrylic to a high sheen using tripoli, white diamond and/or many other compounds or you could try using the auto sol for longer.

Just do what I showed you with the Ajax and toothpaste then a bit of metal polish if you must.

Ive started to follow Les Elm's method. Dry sand to 400 grit, sanding along the blank as well as when the lathe is spinning. Then sand with 0000 wire wool. Use your toothpaste then autosol as you already have these. Wipe the residue off between grits & polishes. Hope this improves your finish. Try it & see. On acrylic I sand at 900 rpm & polish at 1500 rpm.
