Part of a recent group of 14 pens that I made and have just recently gifted to work colleagues at the point where I retired from the 'day job'. (More time for some serious pen turning now!!)
The make-up of each one was rather determined by the interests, character or personality of the receiver! (Only half of them on show here)

All except one are in wood and mainly variations of slimstyle/fancy/streamline fittings. The odd one out being a tortoiseshell acrylic on a gold patrizio. They were fun to make, especially the polkadot!

Congratulations (is that the right word?) on your retirement Tony. Isn't that the wrong way round though - shouldn't they have given you the gifts? None the less, a fine collection of pens there. I'm sure they will have been delighted.

Thankyou Phil. As for 'the wrong way round' ... no not really, they were my team and deserved a little memento of some good work which we did.
They were each really thrilled by the gifts .. but equally it was great to shape and construct these for each of the individuals.

Tony when my wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary I made pens for all the male members of the family, Wilma hand made sewn boxes with the wedding date for the women in the family, in them a piece of her wedding dress within and lined the lid with a piece of the pullover I wore under my suit at the wedding it was winter.. They were received much as would your pens to your workmates and friends. That was nearly thirteen years ago to around 50 of our immediate family. Then following my Radiation visits for 230 bursts of radiation I gave twenty or so pens to those I had become fond of and bags of chocolates to the others.

The power of the pen directed to both those that we admire and those that served service at most sensitive times. I well know and understand the power of a pen. I well understand your motives with your work colleges.

Thank you Eamonn.
Not sure about this more time business - despite doing my damndest there appears to be less of it .. maybe it's these long winter nights (have to extend the heating into the shed!!)

There are a few pens on the way but have spent quite a lot of time cutting and sourcing some nice blanks.
