Looking at it I think you could be right. I did think about staining it and even adding a lid with a finial

IMHO a lid and finial, would improve what is a stunner of a bowl better than the Beech, just my opinion though

Black stain, even some dark brown shoe polish, or if you want to be really radical some bright red stain to really make it pop.
