Hi all
My first ever venture with celluloid, (cellulose nitrate). I’ve made many pens with the similar, but less combustible, cellulose acetate and I must say the cutting and finishing experience is much the same. I’ve heard some people say they can tell the difference by the feel of the material in the finished pens but I honestly can’t and I have handled quite a few.
The main difference is the smell of camphor that consumes you and the workshop as you work with it. It’s not everybody’s cup of tea but I must say I love it. (The other difference is price, this stuff set me back £75 a stick so it’s not cheap).
Anyway here is the pen. It’s got a bit of sterling silver and black acrylic finials from Phil’s shop. Fitted with a Jowo nib.
Cheers
