Paul not only did you get a choice blank but a special Burl. Coolibah like so many Aussie trees can be normal,in many colours dependant on location, very difficult to name in isolation I find.

Tight firm grain splendant is a real pleasure to turn. I shudder when users say they treated Aussie Burl for firmness.

Luck of the draw Paul, you won the lottery there with one of the finest I have seen. My Burl mate down the road cuts them by the thousands. Last evening I cut from a Brown Mallee Burl for a friend in the United States that impressed much as yours today.Exciting is it not.

Thank you for your progress with turning and Videos,sure made my morning here mate with a pen and key ring holder to remember for a long time.
