From a cut plank a long time ago from an ancient tree felled 30 yrs ago the tree is entirely figured. While fossicking for another piece I found this plank cut it gave it a few wipes on the disk sander a little U Beaut polish wiped on the blank it comes up like Mahogany. The original tree was over two metres across half way up the trunk.

Just a little essay on one of our Aussie Trees.

Peter.

Nice one Peter I remember getting hold of quite a large lump of red river gum some years ago I used some of it as an inlay verner on a bedside cabinet with violet rosewood banding around it I found it a very nice wood to work with look forward to seeing yours on a kit my friendd

Sorry the blank is on hold so many choices. bought two new to me toys yesterday a heavy duty band Linisher (over two metres band) and a heavyweight Drill Press into the shed today to prepare the locations before I collect them. Turned out to be a long time mate of mine getting help from his giant son with the pick up and delivery.
