Replacing a Switch.

A sparkie removed the switch from my bandsaw a while ago, the new one arrived, no sparke advailable over this long week end, so where do i plug the wires in?

The switch.

The red button is closest to the wires.
top, L/H marked 1, R/H 4
bottom, L/H 3 marked 6 R/H

bound to be a sparky on here Mark. Obviously you've got two earths, if I were doing it I would put the lives opposite each other, same with the neutrals. Saying that I once wired up my mothers
washing machine and the whole thing was live
On the other hand if I was you I would wait for a proper sparky to advise properly.

Very similar to most on the market by the looks of it.
When turned on 1 will switch to 4 and 3 will switch to 6
So one of the wires connect brown and blue to left hand side and match the connections on other side so both browns at top and both blues at bottom.
The 2 earth wires with the rings on should have a bolt or screw in to the metal plate somewhere that they should connect to. It it important the earth are connected to metal work of the part.

Check with a meter that will tell you if the switch closes to join the two actives (brown) and the two neutrals (blue) to be sure. The earths green to a screw that holds the switch box to metal.

Make sure the two coming in are isolated when the switch is off (most important).
