This was requested by a long time friend.

Set up as a "dry fit" to photograph for her design approval so not glued or fully finished yet, end grain break out on the mallet needs attention and fine sanding etc.
Oak and ash as she wanted, wax finish only. Hope she likes it, will find out Monday. I won't be unhappy if it's not what she wants as I like it myself!

That's a handsome set Bob. The two woods look good together, and to say you've not finished it yet, it's going to be stunning. I don't think I could bring myself to use it for its intended purpose !

you will need a bigger mallet that that to quieten our crocs.:funny::funny::funny:

My wife always likes to go in the sea but it'll be no more than an ankle deep paddle especially as she's discovered some poor guy was killed by a shark off Monkey Mia, one of our stays.
When we we snorkelling on the barrier reef last time she spent more time looking out for man eaters rather than watching the reef fish:funny:

Thanks for the comments guys. I need to finish it tonight so my missus can take it with her tommorrow as she's doing a bank shift and it's for her old boss.

I don't think I could bring myself to use it for its intended purpose !

It's a desk ornament Lainey so not used for auctions but knowing the recipient I'd hazzard a guess she'll bop her partner over the head with it in due course:whistling:
