Rippled Sweet Chestnut Omega

Not much shed time recently, but here's one I managed yesterday. Made from a brown rippled Sweet Chestnut. The grain is fairly open on this piece, so I needed to make sure the skew was properly sharp to get a decent cut and finish.

Quite pleased with the darker ripples in the grain. I think it suits the gunmetal Omega.

Excuse the photos, still using the camera on the phone. I'll afford a better camera one day, but the money keeps getting used to buy more pen and woods at the moment! :rolling:

That is very nice David, I've not tried sweet chestnut yet but its on the cards now :thumbs:

You are right David, the wood and plating do compliment themselves .. I have never come across this wood either, but will keep an eye open as seeing this pen is certainly does look good .. :thumbs:
