I had a bit of productive evening today. Whilst the cnc was busy churning away (don't it take a long time?) I cut up some 10" diameter X 1M Oak that had slightly spalted into 2" planks, cut a bunch of pen blanks from apple and oak and turned this pen from the rose root.

That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. That is another beauty, I can just imagine there will be roses dug up all over the place, lovely finish too.

Nice one, Paul! What was the CNC busy with?

I had my first go with the machine yesterday David so had a go with cutting an owl. Only 2d and I'm not 100% sure how I got to where I did but with a bit more time and effort and some guidance from you I'm sure I'm on the right track. I know I've asked this before but I've tested so much software now, which design package do you use? is it Artcam?

Soory Paul, meant to reply to this in your email. I use CamBam and Inkscape (Inkscape for the drawing and Cambam to generate the Gcode). Mainly because they are free ...
