First I must apologise for showing all my sierras daily, the trouble is I bought a new lightbox and have been practicing my photography and find this forum a wealth of knowledge and good constructive criticism. :thinks:
Here are a few made from Boxwood and one from Rosita.

Very nice looking pens Johnny, and the pictures you are adding are looking very nice indeed ...

Nothing wrong with adding your pictures Johnny, we would be more disappointed if you didn't ... :winking:

Bought it off lignatarre off this forum, that's what it said on the wood. It is a little lighter on the reverse side, good two tone effect.

I must have suffered a premiership brain-fade that day - certainly not boxwood. I think it was Gabon ebony...

Just read that Logwood changes its colour to blue under certain conditions ! Wonder what that looks like:thinks:

Logwood is bizarre stuff. Appearance-wise, very attractive, dark red with mustard yellow streaks and veins, hard and fine textured. In the past, it was used as the source of a water soluble rich royal purple dye; chips were boiled in water to extract the dye. When turning it, it's a must to wear a dust mask. If you don't when you breathe the dust, the moisture in the mucus of your nasal passages releases the dye and you will be producing bright purple snot for the rest of the afternoon. Not seen evidence that the dust is outrightly toxic (no dust ever does you any good) but the sight of this is unsettling to self and family alike!! For the same reason, water-based finishes should be avoided.
Naturally, protect yourself when turning/sanding any timber.

Love that slow curve on this kit they scream out quality after those other kits.IMHO. Must confess after Woodys Rosita joke I thought he might be backing up for another one from the title.

Kind regards Peter.:goesred:
