My local turning club is holding a charity stall at a fayre & asked for turned fruit as apparently they sell well.

This old fence post I posted about in Rays window thread has been getting under my feet since I took it out.

It had copious amounts of nails in it some of which I couldn't get out, so after some careful cutting I mount the pieces between centres.

These are the resulting apples.

I quiet like the effect the old nails holes leave making the apple seem worm eaten & slightly rotten. SWMBO also likes them so hopefully that's a good omen, this one is my favourite with 2 holes from 4" nails that go all the way through.

Thanks for looking:bwink:

Dropped them off at the turning club last night, they seemed to be well received

Mark Raby was demonstrating showing all manner of finishes, well worth seeing him if you get the chance, very interesting.
