Hi Chris.

Two coats of white primer gives good coverage with a flat finish, I use the car type cellulose primer as it dries quick and hard.

Usually dipped for a good coating, after about 5 mins it's dry enough for another coat.

Leave it in a warm dry atmosphere till it dries hard, a couple of hours is good, overnight is better.

Return it to lathe and rub down with 800 grit scratch, apply as many coats ca as required to bring the shine up and add protection.
