Just dug this out and gave it a clean up I think it is all there as most that I have seen are missing the router bits and the holder. Not sure what the large spring is for, the only thing that is missing are the instructions. And what is it worth

I sold a dovetail jig on fleabay a couple of months ago. Managed to get £10 for it.

I had two, one was a screwfix and another that looked similar to yours being aluminium sections but was yellow in colour.

The ali one never did sell and ended up scraping it as I don't do any dovetailing so was taking up valuable room as far as I'm concerned..

The one that did sell it was more trouble packaging the bloody thing up for postage then it was worth.

But hey., it made someone happy.

Dalboy, that looks like an old Arcoy drill powered dovetail jig. The thin end of the shaft in the handle goes in the drill chuck and the cutters in the other end.

Thank you I already know how that works the only thing is what is the large spring for or is it from something else. I did however describe this wrong in as much it is a dovetail jig and dovetail cutters and not a router jig.

I am still waiting for Ray7756 to let me know what is misssing as he seems to know about this jig

I knew straight away it is a dovetail jig, but it "looks" incomplete, in no way am i an expert on this, just expressing an opinion

No that was me making the wrong description as I knew it was a drill operated machine. I know the bit with the handle goes in a drill and that the cutter screws in the other end, as well as the two pieces of wood, are clamped at right angles to each other the main thing that I could not work out was the large spring as there is nowhere that I can see that it fits if at all that it is part of the setup. I maybe got the wrong impression that you knew something about the jig as you said that something was missing I for one did not know I must try to find some instructions on it
I hope you did not take my comments the wrong way.

Re my link forgot to say you need to scroll down a bit to get the exploded diagrams which should identify the components.

I own a trend router jig which I use on occassions. So much to make at the moment as I am trying to write an article for a magazine as well as just starting on a horse drawn wagon model. Plus many small bits and pieces to which I want to make. And to think that I no longer work.

It also looks like that large spring has nothing to do with this jig
