Yes no valid reason not to. Les in Canada has detailed his methods of similar product application in several forums on pens. One of his motivations was projectiles, cartridge finishing etc I regard him as an authority in this and other methods he is a member here as well like you and me . Have success Peter.:fingers:

Problem is we all seek the ideal (in our own minds) finish that you show the pen and magically we have a forever finish with showroom appearance on a relatively cheap kit that sells for some huge mark up. Time and effort in turning the pen is minimum and to spend real time on finish products plus money seems counterproductive. The Aussie bloke who used to produce fantastic pens finished his with CA while you watched at speed with quality to the tune of so many thousands each one a winner using top timbers.

Now in comes the plethora of miracle finishes each one devolved from grandma tousles original recipe and there we go right back to personal preferences, allergens etc good luck on this one mate.Dan its a minefield.

I was thinking for personal use Peter. Going into finishing products is probably a bridge too far at the moment.

Its not so much the plastic coat, but whats underneath, thats what you can get arrested for, particularly in the mens loos on Hampstead Heath.
