Enjoyed these, the laburnum had some little branches off which became nice features and nice contrast between sap and heartwood.

Polish finish.

They look good Phil, nice bit of beading but to much for me.
I think that takes a touch away from the character of the wood.
Background is a bit busy too but I am sure they look good with a dinner in front of em init?

I am not sure about all the beads maybe a few less, not easy trying to design something as small as these without adding to much. You have still done a good job on them.

A very nice pair
I agree with Derek and Brian though, less beading would have been better

Not sure my opinion counts for much in this company but I like exactly that number of beads Phil! Do you use a beading tool?

Course it does !

Yes, I cheated with the cutter on the Sorby multi tip

Derek's right it is a nightmare trying not to just turn a boring cylinder, maybe I did over do the beads. :thinks:

A lovely set there Phil. I like the contrast of the sap and heartwood and you've turned and finished them very nicely

I think the beads add to the oddness. Something interesting is going on with the wood contrast vertical and the beads confuse horizontal which makes me wanna pick them up and have a good look. So I think the beads work here.
