I could but I am a creature of habit.
How about using a finer grade of paper Mark which won't be so bad if you press hard? it'll take more effort to get your finish though
1. Loosen the belt on your trousers
2. Put your right arm between the belt and your trousers
3. Re tighten your belt, with your left hand
Now you WILL use your left hand for sanding
Well that's one way i suppose
That you are having fun while you work

Try what I do Mark,as I go through the grits I count the number of times I go from one end of the to the other end. Starting at the right hand end sand to the l/ h end & back to the r/h end, this counts as one stroke. I count in multiples of 20, it's easier to keep count. Work out the no. of strokes to suit & sand with each grade the same amount of strokes. At least it will give you a consistency of sanding without hopefully going too far. I do it this way because I can't see to sand & it works for me & you soon get used to the count. Best of luck
Which hand do I count the stroke on R/Hand or the L/Hand.
If you don't have any problems with the feeling in your feet, use your toes

ACTUALLY with the amount of room by this lathe, hanging from the ceiling sanding with my toes would give me a lot more room.
