Try what I do Mark,as I go through the grits I count the number of times I go from one end of the to the other end. Starting at the right hand end sand to the l/ h end & back to the r/h end, this counts as one stroke. I count in multiples of 20, it's easier to keep count. Work out the no. of strokes to suit & sand with each grade the same amount of strokes. At least it will give you a consistency of sanding without hopefully going too far. I do it this way because I can't see to sand & it works for me & you soon get used to the count. Best of luck
