I have been using Kingspor J flex cloth backed for sanding on the lathe for years now I used to buy 50Mt rolls but dont use that sort of quantity any more and have just discovered that Ed stocks it in his shop in small rolls and at a very competitive price as well and I have now placed an order for some

Thats pretty good 20 qui or thereabouts for a metre of each main grits.

4 inch wide as well so would cut in half for sanding pads

That's what I use at the moment, but when I've been at Woodys I've always been impressed with the J Flex. I just couldn't justify the 400 quid plus to get the 50m rolls in all the grits.

I'll get some to compare the 2 now though.

so I will give that a go on my next project

I always try and buy 150mm wide strips of valcro backed paper as I find that I can cut it into squares for my sanding discs. I have the Simon Hope sanding system with all three sizes of discs. So I cut the strips like the picture without any waste

I must admit I only looked at the price per meter and didn't take into account the postage. I'll look at Oliver's when I next need some.
